  • Livermore, 2009, Add non-type specimen data from Brailovsky 2008 paper.
  • Dolling, 2015, Bergroth (1893d: 125) employed the spelling Petaloscelis in the combination Petaloscelis remipes. This appears to be a deliberate emendation of Petascelis because he later (Bergroth, 1913d: 126, 135) emended the name of its tribe to Petaloscelidaria and this spelling appears to be etymologically correct. We regard it as an unjustified emendation because all other authors have accepted Signoret’s original spelling
• Type species:  Petascelis remipes Signoret, by original monotypy
• The first family-group name based on this genus is Petascelaria Stål, 1873.
