• Scrutiny:
  • Dolling, 2011, In his original description, Spinola employed two spellings: Plaxiscelis on page 142 and Plaxyscelis in table 7. In 1850: 81 he employed the spelling Plaiscelis, a typographical error which he corrected to Plaxyscelis in 1852: 177, the same year that Dallas, 1852: 378, 437 used the spelling Plaxiscelis. The first reviser is, therefore, either Dallas, 1852 or Spinola, 1852 and the spelling that should be accepted depends on which of these two works has priority.
